What is a Job Announcement?

A Job Announcement is an invitation for the public to compete for existing and future job vacancies in a State or local government job title. Please keep in mind that a Job Announcement does not mean there is a current job opening.

Job Announcements are posted on the NJDOP website Monday through Friday, as soon as DOP identifies a need. Most Job Announcements are open for 21 calendar days. For some titles, particularly in the area of Public Safety, Job Announcements are distributed more widely and kept open for more than 21 days.
